BLUE DRAGONS DEFEAT BLOOMFIELD HAWKS 22-4 IN SEASON OPENER
It is a new season for the Middletown High School baseball squad and it got off to a good start on Wednesday. Scoring nine runs in the first inning, they never looked back and earned a 22-4 victory over an undermanned Bloomfield High. The Dragons are young, starting five sophomores, but it was the seniors that led the way. Senior starting pitcher Josh Strohm got the win holding Bloomfield hitless over five innings and going 5-for-6 at the plate. Senior shortstop Jason Sinagra was also 5-for-6, and senior Vincent Quintiliano chipped in with four hits.

Defensively, the Blue Dragons were solid across the board, getting efforts from the underclassmen as well as the seniors.
